This is my first take on architecture. I used the Lensbaby double glass 50 mm and the sol 45 mm.
Magdeburg Cathedral is located in Germany, Saxony-Anhalt. The official name is Cathedral of Saints Cathrine and Maurice (Dom zu Magdeburg St. Mauritius und Katharina).
The first church was built in 937 and financed by Emperor Otto I the Great and burned down in 1207. The second church was built in 1209 in gothic style. Otto I and his wife Eadgyth (Editha) were buried in the church.
There are 157 gargoyles to protect the cathedral from any kind of demons. Thus there are all different.
You can also find a cloister.

These lovely door-handles were created by Heinrich Apel, artist, sculptor and restorer, still living in Magdeburg.
Beside the cathedral there is a great place with fountains, which are very welcome these hot days of summer.

Thanks for sharing your visit with us Jessica, it looks a beautiful place!
Oh yes, it’s really beautiful, if you ever come to Magdeburg, don’t miss it.

I like these little things with which buildings were decorated in earlier days. Door handles, doors, windows There is always so much to look at. The gargoyles are very special. Do they also spit water when it rains?
I also like the fountains. There’s a lot going on when it’s hot. They invite you to refresh yourself!
Which lens do you like most in the city Double Glass 50 or Sol 45?
Herzliche Grüße
Birgit
Jessica these images are impressive, as well as the cathedral! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Carol!
Welcome to the Blog Circle, Jessica! Your wonderful images gave me an idea for a possible project to do while I am still in Hungary this summer. The Sol worked so well on your images, and I liked the double glass pictures as well. (The Sol was the winner for me. 🙂 )
For me too. Thanks!
These shots are great. I love the detail.
Thank you, Seonaid!
